On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the University of Maryland Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in support of our effort to crackdown on impaired driving in the College Park area. On May 15, 2026, at approximately 2:36 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department responded to Lakeland Road and Rhode Island Avenue to assist the Prince George’s County Police Department for the sound of gunfire. College Park, MD – The person pictured above is the suspect in the February 12, 2026, indecent exposure, the March 25, 2026, voyeur incident, and the April 27, 2026, indecent exposure. The incidents occurred inside restrooms located on the 6th and 7th floors of McKeldin Library.

On Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department will host a Child Car Seat Check at the Pocomoke Building (7569 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, Maryland 20742). This is a free service and is available to anyone. A certified child safety seat technician will assist you with installing and provide guidance on the proper use of your child safety seat.

On Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the University of Maryland Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at locations across the country. DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs. For sixteen years, DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day has helped Americans safely dispose of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—to prevent drug misuse and abuse.
