  • DEA National Drug Take Back

    On Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration will participate in the 25th National Drug Take Back Initiative. During this event, members of the community can safely dispose of their unwanted, unused and/or expired prescription drugs at the Pocomoke Building (7569 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, MD). This service is free and anonymous. No questions asked.

  • FEMA and FCC Plan Nationwide Emergency Alert Test for Oct. 4, 2023

    Release Date: August 3, 2023 Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios and Cell Phones WASHINGTON -- FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) this fall.
