The following is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Prince George's County Police Department. INCIDENT: Indecent Exposure OCCURRED: April 27, 2026 (Monday)/ Between 2:30 p.m. and 2:33 p.m. LOCATION: McKeldin Library, UMD, College Park, Maryland 20742 UMPD CASE #: 2026-113073 BRIEF DETAILS: On April 27, 2026, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) received a report of suspicious activity that occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 2:33 p.m., on April 27, 2026, at McKeldin Library.

Child Car Seat Check this Saturday

On Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department will host a Child Car Seat Check at the Pocomoke Building (7569 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, Maryland 20742). This is a free service and is available to anyone. A certified child safety seat technician will assist you with installing and provide guidance on the proper use of your child safety seat.

Save the Date for DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

On Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the University of Maryland Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at locations across the country. DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs. For sixteen years, DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day has helped Americans safely dispose of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—to prevent drug misuse and abuse.

Four-Legged Assistant Helps Change Lives Canine Companions® Facility Dog Joins the University of Maryland Police Department

College Park, MD – Motivation and support come in many forms, including a cold nose and a warm heart. The University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) welcomed its newest staff member Canine Companions Facility Dog Samuel. Samuel, also known as Sammy, will assist handler Corporal Bart Brady during his work with the University of Maryland (UMD) community.

UMPD Investigating Alleged Hate Crime

Dear Campus Community, Yesterday the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) was notified about an alleged hate crime that involved an antisemitic social media post. An unknown person created an image of a student that was posted online. The posting has since been deleted.

INCIDENT: Voyeur Incident OCCURRED: March 25, 2026 (Wednesday)/ Between 4:50 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. LOCATION: McKeldin Library, UMD, College Park, Maryland 20742 UMPD CASE #: 2026-79116 BRIEF DETAILS: On March 25, 2026, at approximately 6:13 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) was notified about a voyeur incident that occurred between 4:50 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., on March 25, 2026, at McKeldin Library.
